Trevor Kell A Veteran Of The Devils System

trevor kell trenton devils east coast hockey league new jerseyTrevor Kell played four seasons in the Ontario Hockey League from 2002-03 to 2006-07. Kell played his first three seasons with the London Knights and his final season with the Sarnia Sting.

During the 2004-05 season, Trevor established himself as one of the best defensive forwards. He was voted the Ontario Hockey League’s Western Conference Best Defensive Forward in the OHL Coaches Poll. Kell helped the Knights to the Hamilton Spectator, Robertson Cup, Memorial Cup trifecta.

In his final season in the Ontario Hockey League, with the Sarnia Sting, Trevor added an offensive aspect to his game. On a team led offensively by Steven Stamkos, Kell contributed 37 goals and 36 assists for 73 points in 66 games. It was Trevor, not Stamkos, that was selected as Sarnia’s MVP in 2006-07. He led the team in 3-Star points and was voted the team’s Humanitarian of the Year.

Trevor was taken by the Chicago Blackhawks in the fifth round of the 2004 NHL draft, 131st overall. He has been in the New Jersey Devils system since graduating from the Ontario Hockey League.

This season is his fourth with the Trenton Devils of the East Coast Hockey League. In each previous season, he has appeared in a handful of games for the Lowell Devils of the American Hockey League. He is captain of the ECHL club.
