Former Oshawa General Plays 2009-10 in Norway

Ian MacNeil was an Oshawa General for three years during an Ontario Hockey League career that lasted
from 1994-95 to 1996-97.Ian was originally drafted by the Hartford Whalers, 85th overall in the 1995 NHL draft. He has played two NHL games during his career, with the Philadelphia Flyers during the 2002-03 season when he was called up from their AHL affiliate, Philadelphia Phantoms.
MacNeil spent the past season in Norway where he played for Lorenskog IK. The team finished third in the nine team league. Ian contributed 16 points in 29 games. Currently, MacNeil is not signed on with the team for the 2010-11 season.
In between Oshawa and Lorenskog, Ian has played on ten different teams located in five different countries spread over seven different leagues. His last hockey in North America was a 20 game stint with the AHL’s Toronto Marlies during the 2005-06 season. He has played in the United States, Canada, Germany, Austria and Switzerland along with Norway.
