2 OHL Alumni Leading The Way With Ritten In Italy

Ritten Sport is the 2009-10 regular season champion in Italy’s Liga Italiana Hockey Ghiaccio (Italian Ice Hockey League or L.I.G.A.). Ritten is a small community in the Northern portion of the country, near the Austrian border. The team’s two top offensive producers are Ontario Hockey League Alumni. Dan Tudin leads the team by far with 63 points in 38 games. Greg Jacina is second with 46 points in as many games.

Dan Tudin played his entire OHL career with the Ottawa 67’s from 1995-96 to 1998-99. It was a career that concluded with a Memorial Cup win on home ice in 1999. Following OHL, Dan spent four season with Dalhousie University before playing three seasons of minor pro in North America. Dan has been with Ritten for 4 seasons now and has been an offensive powerhouse his whole career in Italy.

Greg Jacina played in the OHL from 1998-99 to 2002-03. After playing just 6 games with his hometown Guelph Storm in 1998-99, Greg became an Owen Sound Plater/Attack. He would play there until being traded to the Mississauga IceDogs midway through the 2001-02 season. Greg played a total of 14 NHL games with the Florida Panthers. He has spent the past three seasons in Europe, first in Sweden then Finland before heading to Italy.
