OHL Grad Named Player Of The Year In Italy’s Serie A2

Peter Campbell was named the ‘Player of the Year’ in the Lega Italiana Hockey Ghiaccio Serie A2.Campbell played four seasons in the Ontario Hockey League from 1996-97 to 1999-00. Peter’s first two seasons were spent with the Sudbury Wolves. His best season in the OHL was with the Owen Sound Platers in the 1998-99 season when he scored 45 goals and totalled 88 points. His final season in the OHL was split between the Belleville Bulls and the Erie Otters.
Campbell spent two seasons in the North American scene after junior, mostly in the Central Hockey League. He started his European hockey career in 2002-03 and has played in Great Britain, Germany and Denmark before switching to Italy this past season.
Peter played for HC Eppan Pirates of Italy’s second league. He lead the league in scoring with 66 points in just 25 games, 11 points better than the next in line. His 32 goals were also tops in the league, one more than teammate Giuseppe Tallari. The team finished first in the 8 team league.
