Otters Alumni Blaze a Trail to Great Britain
Filed under Great BritainFeb 24
Former Erie Otters, Brian Lee and Jason Robinson find themselves playing over the pond in Great Britain’s EIHL. Both are members of the Coventry Blaze, a team that currently sits atop the standings in a tight three team battle in the eight team league.Coventry is the 9th largest city in England with a population of just over 300,000. The team plays out of an arena with a capacity for hockey around 2600, including standing room.
Brian Lee played for the Otters from 2000-01 to 2004-05. He was drafted by the Anaheim Ducks but an NHL career never panned out. He split time between the ECHL and AHL from 2005-06 to 2007-08 before jumping to Briancon of the Ligue Magnus in France for the 2008-09 season. This is his first season with the Blaze.
Jason Robinson was a Niagara Falls Thunder in 1995-96 and an Otter for 1996-97 and 1997-98. Jason was a Tampa Bay Lightning draft pick but like Brian Lee, never played in the NHL. Jason is in his sixth season in the EIHL. This is his first back after a three year hiatus when he played a season in Italy and two in the IHL.

Check out the roster page on the Coventry Blaze official website for more current information on these two former Otters.
