Jason Pinizzotto Playing in Germany’s Bundesliga 2 for Schwenninger
Filed under GermanyMay 10Jason Pinizzotto played two seasons in the Ontario Hockey League. In 1997-98, Pinizzotto was a Barrie Colt and in 1998-99, he was a Toronto St. Michael’s Major.
In 2000-01, Jason dropped down to the OPJHL and tore up that league. He lead the league in scoring, playing for the Couchiching Terriers, scoring 54 goals and adding 86 assists for 140 points in just 49 regular season games.
Jason went the Canadian university route after junior, playing four seasons with York University. In 2005-06, he left for Germany and has since not looked back.
His first two seasons in Germany were spent in the Bundesliga. He moved up to the DEL for 2007-08 with the DEG Metro Stars and 2008-09 with the Hamburg Freezers.
This past season, 2009-10, he moved back down to the Bundesliga and played with Schwenninger Wild Wings. The team finished first in the 14 team league during the regular season. The team plays out of Helios Arena which houses 6300 for hockey.
