8 OHL Alumni With The Hartford Wolf Pack

The Hartford Wolf Pack are the New York Rangers AHL affiliate. There are 8 Ontario Hockey League alumni currently on the Wolf Pack. Click on the following players names to view their profile page at the team’s official website.Kris Newbury played five seasons in the OHL from 1998-99 to 2002-03. His first season was spent with the Belleville Bulls and was traded midway through his second to the Sarnia Sting, where he finished out his OHL career. Kris has NHL experience with the Toronto Maple Leafs and Detroit Redwings. He was a recent aquisition from the Redwings organization.
Justin Soryal played for the Peterborough Petes from 2004-05 to 2007-08. This is his second full season with the Wolf Pack.
Evgeny Grachev was rookie of the year in his one OHL season, 2008-09, spent with the Brampton Battalion. He, of course, helped the team go deep into the playoffs before losing to eventual Memorial Cup Champs, the Windsor Spitfires, in the OHL final. A third round pick of the Rangers, Evgeny has spent the full season with the Wolf Pack.
Bobby Sanguinetti was a first round pick of the Rangers in 2006. His OHL career spanned 4 seasons from 2004-05 to 2007-08. His first three seasons were spent in Owen Sound with the Attack and his last was with the Brampton Battalion. The American born defenseman is in his second full season with the Wolf Pack and has had a taste of the NHL with five games this season with the Rangers.
Ryan Garlock played his first OHL season, 2002-03, with the Guelph Storm. He was traded in his second season to the Windsor Spitfires where he finish out his OHL career a couple years later in 2005-06.
Steve Valiquette played in the OHL from 1994-95 to 1997-98. He played between the pipes with the Sudbury Wolves until being traded to the Erie Otters midway through his final season. Originally drafted by the Los Angeles Kings, Steve has had NHL experience with the New York Islanders, Edmonton Oilers and the New York Rangers.
Nigel Williams played two seasons in the OHL. His first was with the Saginaw Spirit in 2006-07 and his second was split between the Spirit and the Belleville Bulls in 2007-08. Nigel played last season with the Lake Erie Monsters of the AHL and is in his first season with the Wolf Pack.
Corey Locke leads the Wolf Pack in scoring this season, something he’s used to, having been OHL scoring champion in both 2002-03 and 2003-04. Corey played for the Ottawa 67′s from 2001-02 to 2003-04. He has 1 NHL game under his belt with the Montreal Canadiens and is in his first season with the Wolf Pack.
