federal hockey league fhl logoThe Federal Hockey League has begun it’s first season, and, quite frankly, the league looks pretty exciting. Two Ontario Hockey League grads playing in the FHL have already been featured at OHL Alumni Central – Miguel Delisle (read post here) and Chris Bain (read post here). This post will round out the other six that we know of at this time.

Carter Trevisani was featured over the summer in a post about him returning to Asiago of Italy’s Lega Italiana Hockey Ghiaccio (read post here). A short while later, Carter revealed that he would be not be playing for Asiago and would be returning to Canada to hopefully play closer to home. Trevisani then signed with the Akwesasne Warriors, joining fellow Ottawa 67′s alumnus, Miguel Delisle.

Dan Tessier is yet another Ottawa 67′s grad playing for the Warriors. Tessier played four seasons in the Ontario Hockey League from 1996-97 to 1999-00, all with Ottawa.

Clay McFadden played two seasons in the Ontario Hockey League, 2002-03 and 2003-04. His first season was spent in Kingston with the Frontenacs. His second season was split between the Frontenacs and the Oshawa Generals. Clay is playing in the FHL for the Thousand Islands Privateers.

Joining McFadden on the Privateers is Justin Levac. Levac played in the Ontario Hockey League for parts of four seasons from 2005-06 to 2008-09. He started out with the Brampton Battalion and finished with the Kingston Frontenacs after switching teams midway through the 2007-08 season.

Lucas Schott played just four games in the Ontario Hockey League but, as we’ve mentioned before, just one game makes a player a grad of the OHL. Schott played three playoff games for the Mississauga IceDogs during the 2002-03 season and one regular season game with the Barrie Colts the following year. Schott will be playing for the Danbury Whalers of the FHL.

Kevin Druce played three seasons between the pipes in the Ontario Hockey League from 2001-02 to 2003-04. His first two seasons were with the Oshawa Generals and his final season in the OHL was with the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds. Druce suits up this season with the New York Aviators.
