2013-14 Top 7 OUA Scorers Are OHL Grads

daniel erlich western mustangsThe OUA season is in the books and the Ontario Hockey League was well represented, saying so much about the CHL scholarship program. The top seven in the scoring race were all OHL grads. Daniel Erlich led the way with 50 points while playing all 28 regular season games for the Western Mustangs.

Daniel Erlich – Western Mustangs

Erlich led the league with ten goals and 40 assists for 50 points over 28 games for the University of Western Ontario Mustangs. It was Daniel’s second year with Western. He played five years in the Ontario Hockey League from 2007-08 to 2011-12 with the London Knights, Guelph Storm and Barrie Colts.

Jamie Wise – Ryerson Rams

In his second year with the Ryerson University Rams, Wise placed second in the league with 45 points on 21 goals and 24 assists over 26 games. Jamie played three years in the OHL from 2009-10 to 2011-12 with the Peterborough Petes and Mississauga Majors.

Domenic Alberga – Ryerson Rams


OUA rookie Alberga placed third with 44 points on 18 goals and 26 assists over 26 games with the Ryerson Rams. Domenic played four years in the OHL from 2009-10 to 2012-13 with the Brampton Battalion, Sarnia Sting and Kitchener Rangers.

Conor O’Donnell – Nipissing Lakers

O’Donnell tied Domenic Alberga with 44 points on 13 goals and 31 assists over the full 28 game schedule as a member of the Nipissing University Lakers. 2013-14 was Conor’s fourth year with Nipissing. O’Donnell played four years in the Ontario Hockey League from 2006-07 to 2009-10 with the Brampton Battalion, Windsor Spitfires and Guelph Storm.

Justin Larson – Waterloo Warriors

Larson placed fifth with 43 points on 20 goals and 23 assists over 28 games with the Waterloo Warriors. 2013-14 was Justin’s third year with Waterloo. He played five years in the OHL from 2006-07 to 2010-11 with the Sudbury Wolves, Mississauga Majors and Peterborough Petes.

Zach Harnden – Western Mustangs

Harnden’s 41 points were good for sixth in the OUA. He scored 18 goals and assisted on 23 over 27 games with the Western Mustangs in his third year with the university. Zach played five years in the OHL from 2005-06 to 2009-10 with the Peterborough Petes and Kingston Frontenacs. In 2008-09, Harnden was team captain for Peterborough. In 2011-12, Zach was named CIS rookie of the year and was honoured with the Clare Drake Award.

Matt Clarke – Western Mustangs

Clarke placed seventh with 40 points on 14 goals and 26 assists over 27 games with the Western Mustangs. It was Matt’s second year with the Mustangs. He played four years in the Ontario Hockey League from 2005-06 to 2008-09, all with the London Knights.
